100 episodes down and How I Met Your Mother is another hit for Alyson Hannigan. She’s gone from Buffy the Vampire Slayer’s witch friend Willow and American Pie’s band geek to Mother’s moral compass. Her character, Lily, presents the ideal relationship with her husband Marshall (Jason Segel.) Now she is a real life mommy, but on TV they still haven’t met the mother.

Zimbio: After 100 episodes, what have been your favorite moments from the show?
Alyson Hannigan: I think my favorite moment was when the USC marching band played, with Marshall and Lily deciding whether or not to pick each other up at the airport. I was pregnant at the time and maybe a little emotional. Just to be surrounded by such a beautiful song and to have all that live music coursing through me and my baby, it was really touching.

Zimbio: How did your dad meet your mom?
Alyson Hannigan: My dad was sitting on a stoop in Brooklyn with his dog. My mom was walking her dog and the dogs liked each other and then they did, too.

Zimbio: I can’t believe that actually works.
Alyson Hannigan: It didn’t work. They got divorced, but it did work for however long it worked.

Zimbio: You guys get awesome guest stars. Is there anyone you still hope to have on the show?
Alyson Hannigan: I’d love to work with Jennifer Aniston. I keep hoping she’s the mom.

Zimbio: Who was the better guest star, Spencer and Heidi from The Hills, or Britney Spears?
Alyson Hannigan: Well, I didn’t meet Heidi and Spencer but even if I had, I’m sure it was Britney.

Zimbio: Did you know there’s like 10 different Willow action figures on the market?
Alyson Hannigan: You know, the guy at Starbucks told me that, too.

Zimbio: Oh, you don’t have them.
Alyson Hannigan: I own just the ones that people have sent me but not all of them. I don’t really think it looks like me but it’s cool to be an action figure.

Zimbio: Congratulations on your baby and you look great. Did you just go right back to the gym right away?
Alyson Hannigan: Oh God, no. I haven’t been to the gym. I mean, I’ve been to pilates but that’s at my friend’s house. Breast feeding really does help. Dressing appropriately helps and a spray tan helps.

Zimbio: How much sleep are you getting with a newborn?
Alyson Hannigan: Well, not as much as I’d like to but it’s okay.

Zimbio: Have you had any hilarious moments of delirium from sleep deprivation?
Alyson Hannigan: You know what’s been happening lately, and I would like to blame it on sleep deprivation, but I think it just might be my brain, I’ve turned into that person who misquotes things but think I’m quoting the right thing. I’ve turned into that old mom that thinks she’s hip and she’s not. There was something Jason [Segel] was saying and I was trying to say it was going to be his catch phrase. I’m like, “Oh, be careful. That’s going to be your ‘What’s happenin’, Willis?’” He started laughing so hard and I’m like, “His name was Willis. I don’t know why he’s acting like I said it wrong.” It took me ages to remember it was “Whatchoo’ talkin’ about, Willis?”
