It’s a girl – and she shares her birthday with her mom!

How I Met Your Mother star Alyson Hannigan and her husband, actor Alexis Denisof, who kept the gender of their baby a secret during pregnancy, have welcomed a daughter, her rep tells PEOPLE.

The girl is named Satyana Denisof and was born March 24 in Los Angeles, which also happens to be Hannigan’s birthday. “They’re very excited, and mom and baby are doing great,” says the rep.

Hannigan, 35, who first announced she was expecting to PEOPLE last October, craved ginger ale during her pregnancy and revealed she felt absent minded. “I have pregnancy brain, which I never realized was a thing but it is,” she said on The Ellen DeGeneres Show. “I sort of feel like a Koala bear where I’m slightly stoned all the time and say the wrong word.”

This is the first child for Hannigan and Denisof, 43, who met on the set of Buffy the Vampire Slayer during the 1999-2000 season and were married at the Two Bunch Palms resort near Palm Springs, Calif., in 2003.

Could it be? In the fourth season of How I Met Your Mother, is the identity of the mother about to be revealed? According to HIMYM co-creator, Carter Bays, it’s… possible. He gave EW.com’s Michael Ausiello some prized scoop on the matter.

‘At the end of the season, we will address the title of our show,’ reveals Bays, adding that the last four episodes will feature ‘big events in the lives of our characters — specifically Ted (Josh Radnor). We’re going to wrap up some things that have been left dangling.

‘…I will say at the very least that the season will end with a complete sentence,’ he teases. ‘We’ve left some sentence fragments dangling in past seasons, but this year, there will either be a period, a question mark or an exclamation point. We will be giving the audience that.’ ”

So Carter wouldn’t spill if the mother would or would not be identified, but at the very least, there will be more information

Who will Ted end up with? That’s a mystery that will only be resolved when How I Met Your Mother wraps up a couple of years from now but that doesn’t mean that the cast of the hit CBS sitcom can’t say who they are rooting for. In an interview with CBS station KCBS-TV’s Jenn McBride, Alyson Hannigan (Lily Aldrin), Neil Patrick Harris (Barney Stinson), Josh Radnor (Ted Mosby) and Jason Segel (Marshall Erikson) revealed their ideas on the mother of Ted’s children.

Hannigan, who plays a kindergarten teacher and wife of Marshall, is rooting for Jennifer Aniston, actress who rocketed to fame for her role as Rachel on Friends. While it would be interesting to see “a stellar combination of two of the best comedies of all time,” that’s not what Harris wants for his on-screen wingman. In true Barney Stinson-style, Harris is proposing that Ted would end up with an adult film star such as Jenna Jameson.

Segel, on the other hand, is hoping that his character’s best friend would end up with someone just like Robin Scherbatsky (Cobie Smulders), a sentiment he shares with most fans of How I Met Your Mother.

“I don’t know who the wife is going to be, but I think the Robin-type is kinda the right kind of girl: smart, sassy, sweet,” Segel said.

As for Ted, who was ditched by Stella (Sarah Chalke) just before their wedding earlier this season, Radnor wishes that his character would end up with “someone awesome.”

“After what he’s been through, he deserves someone great,” Radnor said.

For now, How I Met Your Mother is diverting fans’ attention by offering a few adventures and twists along the way, including Barney harboring romantic feelings for Robin.

“It’s a possibility. Yeah, we definitely touch upon that this season. He realizes that he is sort of feeling these things and they’re not going away and they will develop toward the end,” Smulders hinted.

How I Met Your Mother airs every Monday at 8:30 on CBS.
